Councillor - Tessa Bruce
I’m Tessa and I’m 10 years old, in Year 6 and Room 10 with my awesome teacher, Mrs McHaffie-Green.
This year I’ve had the pleasure to be a school councillor. I think it’s an excellent opportunity for us
to practise and develop our leadership skills and to help the school by doing school announcements, raising
money and assisting the teachers wherever we can.
What I think makes me special is my caring nature,
good sense of humour, a sensible approach to life and responsibility towards others. I like to think
I have good organisational skills and can find solutions to tricky situations.
Some past achievements:
I’m proud of winning the speech and poem contests at my school and hope that I can deliver a great speech this year.
Favourites: I love the colour yellow, caramel, chocolate, ballet and dancing, the arts, writing, directing and
learning and leadership. I also enjoy all the lunchtime activities we can participate in. I have been in the choir,
Whanau Kotahi, Chotae Bachae and the dance/singing troupe.
I am an ICT monitor and a member of the writing club.
My friends are Ella, Rose, Sarah (School Councillors), Chloe, Cherie, Olivia, Dominique, Caitlin and many others.
In my family I have a loving sister Gracie, very supportive parents and a cheeky mischievous cute, black cat called Chubby
(He isn’t really chubby it’s just that he scoffs his food down very fast!!)
Don’t forget – if you don’t set your
sights high you’ll never know how tall you can be.
School Councillors.
