Girls' Soccer
This year I was in the girls' soccer team and Mr Hunt was our coach. Almost every day we went out at 1:00 p.m. and learnt the rules and how to improve our soccer skills. We learnt the use of different players in this sport. Have you ever been in a soccer tournament, or even played soccer before? Well by the time you've read this report and you're a Year Six or Five you'll want to join Mr Hunt.
In Term 3 Mr Hunt organised two girls' soccer teams. I was in team B. I was picked captain for my team and Kiri was picked captain for team A.
When the day of the tournament came it was not a very nice day at all with the cold miserable rain and all the mist and wind hurting your eyes. We played hard and we slipped up and down the field in the wet and soggy mud. The whole team wished they could go home, have a bath, get some pyjamas on with a nice warm robe, some slippers and last of all a hot drink.
We did very well especially team A. Team A came first and team B came seventh. The girls' soccer was awesome.
Team B won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 4. Team A won all their games and their best score was 8 to nil. Ours was 9 nil against Hill Park.
After that one day of my life I have loved soccer more than anything. It was great that Mr Hunt took the initiative to teach us how to play soccer. I think it was worthwhile joining the team.
