The School Library
Manurewa Central School has a committee of 20 hard working librarians and computer monitors.
We have a variety of fiction books for all ages and a spectacular section of non fiction for
children to research or read.
All children are free to come and use our library at lunchtimes whenever they wish.
They can choose books, play games, or have a turn on the computers next door in the ICT Room. The library is
computerised so it is quick and easy to issue and return books. There is also a computerised catalogue
to help you find what you're looking for.

STORYLINES' FESTIVAL
On Sunday, 28 August a group of Manurewa Central School children went to the Aotea Centre for the Storylines’ Festival dedicated to reading and books.
There were a lot of fun activities there such as face-painting, badge-making and story-telling. Famous authors such as our very own Clare Scott, Lucy Davey and Joy Cowley were there. You could see illustrators working and authors reading.
There was also a special performance of Margaret Mahy’s stories at the Civic Centre. I especially liked the badge-making as you could design your own. The festival started at 10am and ended at 3pm. We were lucky enough to have a free bus to take us. It was a wonderful day.
We would like to thank Mrs Brown, Ms Brodien, Miss Ihaka, Mrs Hall and Miss Farrelly for giving up their Sunday to come with us and also to thank the parents who accompanied us.
