Cricket
Each year Manurewa Central School has one or two cricket teams. We play on the new cricket pitch that Mr Dawson arranged to have made in 2003.
We practice at lunchtimes on the cricket pitch with a teacher from our school. If we're lucky we sometimes get to practice with a person from Counties Manukau Cricket Club.
Each year we enter an interschool competition with other teams in Manurewa. We also have a friendly tournament against Hill Park Primary, consisting of three games.
CRICKET REPORT
The cricket team is now in the tri-series cricket cup final. This achievement follows three outstanding wins against Clendon Park and Hillpark Schools.
During the most recent win against Hillpark School we achieved 67 runs for 7 wickets. Special mention needs to be given to Harvineet Singh who blasted his way to 41 runs including 4 sixes and 3 fours. All but one of the sixes landed on a classroom roof!
The final is on Tuesday, 30 March.
